Blisters on the heels

E-mail Print

A recurrent blister on one heel can be the sign of a leg length discrepancy. If you suffer from an annoying blister on one heel that always persists after running, there are a few points to check.

Make sure the sports shoes fit correctly. If your shoe is slightly to small, the larger foot will rub against the inner shoe causing a blister. If the shoe is slightly too large, the smaller foot will move too freely and rub on the inner shoe causing a blister also. However, if you have correctly fitting sports shoes, it may be that the shorter leg slightly rolls inward on heel lift due to a dip of the pelvis. By helping to correct the leg length difference with corrective orthotics, this will prevent annoying blisters in the future.
